Kitchens are the heart of the family —

Like most homes, our kitchen is the hub of the house.  I find this to be true about most kitchens that I know. Many families treat their kitchen as if it were part of the family.  If you think about it, it really is. How would a family function if it lost the kitchen? I think about my family’s kitchen.  The stove and refrigerator alone helped raise all nine of my aunts and uncles.  Many family festivities started there.  Part of my wedding cake was constructed in that every kitchen.  Emergencies were fixed, shoulders were cried upon, and much laughter bubbled forth from the area of the table.  Endless bowls of popcorn and pans of brownies were enjoyed there at various sleepovers.  Boys were giggled over, and meals were planned.  I think the kitchen is the most important room in the house, because it’s the only one that treats everyone the same.
